We are helping our clients build their online presence on their unique IP addresses, which would make it easy for them to buy certificate and more accessible for their emails to get to the right people. Also, by giving our customers a dedicated IP address, they can access their site anytime, even if their domain name is taken.
A secure Socket Layer, or SSL, is a great way to prove who you are on the web. When a user submits or retrieves data from your website, the data is encrypted by an SSL certificate. In this way, thieves and hackers won’t be able to get their hands on your customers’ sensitive information.
Before I buy an SSL certificate, what do you need?
Before buying an SSL certificate, you must go through the SSL activation and authentication process. For this process, you need to do the things below.
Generate CSR:
You must submit valid information on your server to generate CSR. Your certificate will be given to you by the CA (certificate authority) based on the information you put in the CSR.
WHOIS Record:
CA will check your and WHOIS information to ensure you own the domain. So, provide that your business’s name, address, and other details are public and match the information you give. CA will sometimes use a file-based or email-based process to ensure you own the domain.
Business Documents:
Suppose you want to buy certificate, either OV SSL or EV SSL. In that case, you will need to show some business documents that prove the legitimacy of your business during the verification process.
Why does SSL mater?
People who use the Internet are more worried about the security and privacy of their information. SSL is integral to web security because it uses encryption to create a safe tunnel between the browser and the server.
Encryption:
SSL will send data securely by encrypting personal information like login credentials, social security numbers, and payment information.
Authentication:
SSL authentication guarantees that your website communicates with the correct server and that the user is who they claim to be through server verification.
Trust:
SSL will make your customers more likely to trust you and give them the confidence they need to make transactions safely on your website.
What kinds of SSL certificates are there?
There are three kinds of SSL certificates, and we sell all of them. Each has a different level of safety. Knowing what type of SSL certificate to use is essential when working with personal user data.
SSL certificate for a domain (DV)
DV certificates check who owns a site. The Certificate Authority sends an email to the website’s registered email address to confirm its identity. The DV Certificate is the easiest to get and has the lowest level of trust because it doesn’t require any specific information about the company.
SSL certificate that has been verified by an organization (OV)
The Certificate Authority has to prove the organization, its physical address, and the website’s domain name. OV certificates have a medium level of trust, so they are fine for websites to open to the public and with lower-level transactions.
An SSL certificate with extended validation (EV)
When it comes to protecting personal information online, this is the best SSL certificate available. Before giving out an EV SSL certificate, the Certificate Authority thoroughly reviews the applicant.
